This tool converts your Word document's content into HTML using mammoth, an open-source .docx reader, preserving headings, paragraphs, text formatting, lists and tables. The generated markup is sanitized before display, so this stays safe to use even on files from someone else.
Limitations
This reads document content, not visual layout — exact fonts, margins, and page breaks aren't reproduced. Embedded images and complex nested tables may not render identically to Word.

- Can I edit the document?
- No — this is a read-only viewer. You can read the document with its headings, formatting and lists intact, and export it as plain text or HTML, but editing and re-saving as .docx needs Word or a compatible editor.
- Does this preserve exact formatting like Word does?
- Structure (headings, paragraphs, bold/italic, lists, tables) carries over — pixel-perfect page layout (margins, exact fonts, page breaks) doesn't, since this reads the document's content rather than rendering it the way Word does. For reading and extracting text, that's rarely noticeable.
- Is my document uploaded anywhere?
- No. The file is parsed and rendered entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
